With a view to curbing mass copying, Punjab School Education Board has begun an anti-cheating campaign in various districts.

From Tarn Taran on Tuesday, the campaign moves on to Moga on Thursday. Programme convener Shruti Shukla has confirmed the response to be good. "So far, we have gone into two districts, Bathinda on August 27 and today in Tarn Taran," she said.

"Maybe towards the closing stage, we'll be in Ludhiana." In Gurdaspur district, a 100-cars awareness rally is planned but the date is not decided yet. "Maybe in October," said Shukla.

In Tarn Taran, the anti-cheating campaign opened with 100 students participating in a march on Tuesday morning, holding placards with anti-cheating slogans written over. In a seminar later, 300 principals and teachers from various schools heard two resource people speak on the subject. Students received prizes for winning slogans and posters after a district-level competition on the theme. An exhibition of the posters was also organised.

"Ludhiana is a central place, so we want to conclude the campaign there," said board chairperson Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal. "The aim is to stop mass coping during board examinations in all districts. A few cases were reported last time, so we hope the campaign makes an impact," she added.
