Drive against drug peddling continues, 16 more held

In itss ongoing drive against drug peddlers, the police on Wednesday registered 15 cases and arrested 16 people, including a woman.

The Division 6 police arrested Nakul Shah and seized 1-kg hashish from his possession.

The Division 1 police arrested Ravi Kumar of Pritam Palace of Sirsa for possessing 750-gm narcotic powder. The Division 2 police arrested Deepak Kumar, a resident of a slum near the Jagraon Bridge and recovered 55-gm narcotic powder from his possession.

The Sarabha Nagar police arrested Raj Kumar of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar for possessing 15-gm narcotic powder. The Model Town police arrested two people in separate cases. Baljinder Singh of Manjit Nagar was arrested with 65-gm charas, while Sunny of Basti Abdullapur was held for possessing 4.5-kg poppy husk.

Sahnewal police arrested Inderjit Singh of Ajnod village, who was in possession of  10-gm narcotic powder. The accused was travelling in an SUV, which has been impounded.

The Sadar police arrested a woman, Chrana Kaur of Janta colony in Gill village and seized 2-kg poppy husk from her possession. In another case, cops from the same police station arrested Babli of Janta Colony of Gill village for possessing 4.2-kg poppy husk.

The Dehlon police arrested Karan Kumar of Malerkotla of Sangrur, who was carrying 300 intoxicant capsules. The Daresi police arrested Deepak Kumar of Ghati Valmik and recovered 1.25-kg narcotic powder from his possession.

The Meharban police arrested Karnail Singh of Mangat village and seized 16-kg poppy husk from his possession. The Focal Point police arrested Ravinder Singh of Nanowal Kalan village of Fatehgarh Sahib with 35 bottles of cough syrup and 15,000 sedatiing pills.

The PAU police arrested Pritam Singh of Dairy Complex of Haibowal and recovered 4-kg poppy husk from his possession.

The Ladhowal police arresred Balwinder Singh of Ahliwal village of Sidhwan Bet and Tehal Singh of Kul Gehna village and recovered 10-kg poppy husk from their possession. The police also confiscated motorcycle they were riding on.
