Industrialists, businessmen to don cricket whites tomorrow

City industrialists and businessmen will be shedding their suits for cricket whites, as the first-ever Corporate T-20 Cricket League Tournament begins this Sunday.

Being organised by the Chamber of Commercial and Industrial Undertakings (CICU), the tournament will see the participation of eight teams and the matches will be played every Sunday for the next eight weeks. 

CICU general secretary Avtar Singh said the tournament would be of benefit to the participants. The matches will be played at Satish Chander Dhawan (SCD) Government College for Boys.

The participating teams have been divided into two groups. Each team will play three league matches and the final will be played on December 22.

Two more dengue cases spring up

Two more dengue cases were confirmed in the city on Thursday. One 25-year-old woman from Bhora village, Jalandhar Bypass, and a 30-year-old man from BRS Nagar were tested positive for dengue. Both patients are undergoing treatment at the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital.
