Jeep collides with tractor, 3 cops hurt

Three cops suffered injuries when the their jeep, which was escorting the bus ferrying women kabaddi players of Denmark, met with an accident on the Ferozepur road near Mandiyani on Wednesday evening.
The injured were rushed to DMC Hospital. They have been identified as head
constables Kuldeep Singh, Satish Kumar and Inderjit Singh.

Inderjit Singh was discharged from the hospital after administering first aid, while the condition of Kuldeep and Satish was stated to be stable.

Mullanpur Dakha police have started investigation, while the bus ferrying players was sent to its destination.

According to inspector Manjinder Singh, SHO of the Mullanpur Dakha police station, the police jeep was escorting the bus which was heading towards Ludhiana. When the convoy reached near Mandiyani village, a tractor trolley suddenly came in front of the jeep from the side road. As a result, the jeep collided with the tractor-trolley.

The SHO said the police would take action against the tractor-trolley driver after investigation.
