Man arrested for attacking woman, daughter with knife

The local police have arrested a resident of Basant Vihar for allegedly attacking a woman and her daughter with a knife at their house in Harwinder Nagar on Wednesday.


In his complaint to the police, Gurdeep Singh alleged that Satpal Singh entered his house and attacked his wife and daughter with a knife, leaving his daughter seriously injured.

Inspector Gurpreet Singh, station house officer (SHO), Basti Jodhewal, said Satpal was arrested on a tip-off and presented before the court that sent him to judicial custody.

A case under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 452 (trespass alter preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint) and 506 (criminal intimidation) has been registered against Satpal.
