A Bone Mineral Density (BMD) camp was oragnised by National Integrated Medical Association (NIMA) in Mullanpur here on Saturday.
Surinder Gupta, secretary, NIMA, said the camp was organised at Dr Kehal clinic to check bone related problems of people. He said 160 patients having bone related ailments were tested for BMD in the camp.
The team of doctors that conducted the camp comprised Jagdev Singh Kehal, Vinod Dakar, Sarbji Singh and Anil Arora.
The doctors in the camp said poor intake of calcium in diet, leads to fragile and weaker bones and particularly women are more prone to development of osteoporosis, due to breast feeding and poor dietary calcium content.
The doctors advised people to increase consumption of milk, curd and lassi apart from cereals for more calcium intake to ensure better health of bones.
