Work comes to a halt as clerical staff of DC's office goes on strike

The clerical staff of the deputy commissioner's office went on strike on Monday. The employees demanded from the government to fulfill their demands.
Due to the strike, visitors faced troubles due to non-completion of their work. The work regarding registries got affected due to the
strike.

Deputy commissioner's office employees union president Baldev Singh Jartouli said, they are facing shortage of staff at newly constituted districts. He added that they have been demanding from the government to recruit new staff.

The union has various other demands including, promotion of the stenos, there should be grade 2 posts at sub-division level and others.

Baldev Singh further informed that they will continue their strike on Tuesday adding that they will participate in a rally on Wednesday.

He further informed that the services at Suvidha center will continue. The employees on strike appealed to the government to fulfill their demands.

Meanwhile, Sukhwinder Singh, president of Punjab Health Department Subordinate Offices Clerical Association, said they will carry out a rally on Tuesday at the DC's office.
