Chief minister Prakash Singh Badal has said before making baseless statements on the issue of law and order situation in the state, Congress leaders must be aware of the fact that Punjab was much more peaceful and secure than most of the Congress-ruled states across the country.
Taking strong exception to the malicious propaganda of the state Congress leadership, Badal said it was like "the pot calling the kettle black" as the Opposition party was unnecessarily exaggerating the issue of law and order situation in Punjab.
"Take instance of New Delhi, which is a Congress-ruled state and where the party is heading the union government. The crime rate and law and order situation in Delhi are worst than Punjab as no one is safe and secure in the national capital," Badal said.
Badal who was on a private visit to Sangrur said the sole aim of the Congress leaders behind issuing such irrational statements was to get cheap publicity from people.
"Opposition leaders were hardly paying attention to their dubious track record and anti-Punjab stance in the recent years," he said.
Badal claimed that 'Chintan Shivir' of the SAD-BJP alliance at Goa would focus on carving out a detailed action plan for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections besides analysing working of the government in the past one year and discussing the steps to be taken to strengthen the party base in the state.
More than 100 SAD-BJP alliance leaders are flying to Goa to participate in the Shivir to be held on April 8 and 9.
"The SAD-BJP alliance leaders will also deliberate upon the steps required to put the state further on the high growth trajectory for ensuring its all-round development", Badal said.
