The deceased have been identified as Rohan Singla .The incident occured at around 9pm when Rohan complained of a health problem. He died on his way to the hospital.

The students allege that the deceased died due to negligence of the university warden who failed to provide any medical facility to the victim on time.

The students also allege that authorities did not call for a medical expert nor arrange for an ambulance to shift the student to a hospital, as requested by students. Later students, themselves decided to take him to hospital.

As the student allegedly died on way to hospital, the student ransacked the university campus and also blocked the traffic on Chandigarh highway.

The police have reached the campus in heavy number and assured them of suitable action in the case. The students, however, have demanded a murder case against authorities.
