To raise awareness among farmers on agriculture facilites provided by the state government, the district administration plans to start an FM radio channel, exclusively for farmers.
The channel would help farmers in day-to-day activity as it would relay agriculture-related programmes,
cultural programmes for women and weather forecast as well.

Deputy commissioner Patiala GK Singh headed a meeting of district agriculture department along with district administration in this regard.

He said that 94% of wheat sowing process has been completed.

He added that agriculture department teams would visit villages and test the water of tube wells installed.  He claimed that villager were now allowed to grow trees on village common land, which could be a way of increasing the revenue of village panchayats.
