Deepinder Singh Dhillon, newly elected chairman of the district planning committee, in his maiden meeting reviewed the progress of the ongoing projects in various departments here on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by officers of the departments concerned, including finance and accounts
department.
Dhillon also instructed officials of various departments that projects and pending works should be completed as early as possible.
Addressing his first meeting, Dhillon further said the district had received a fund of Rs. 66.39 lakh from the state government for development works this financial year.
He added that Rs. 42.23 lakh had been received for the development of rural areas and Rs. 24.16 lakh for the development works of urban areas.
On behalf of the chief minister and the deputy chief minister, he assured senior officials of the department that there would be no shortage of funds for the development works of the district.
Dhillon further said that a meeting of the development works officers would be called in the first week of March to discuss the process of development.
