Divisional commissioner tookstock of paddy procurement

Presiding over a meeting of officials of food and civil supplies department and senior officials of the district administration on Saturday, Patiala divisional commissioner Ajit Singh Pannu reviewed paddy procurement work at various grain markets in the district.

He directed the officials of procurement agencies to lift the farmers' crop of farmers on time. However, he expresses satisfaction over the paddy procurement and payments to the farmers.

He directed the officials of procurement agencies not to harass farmers at the grain markets.
Fatehgarh Sahib additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Malwinder Singh Jaggi said out of 88,725 MT paddy, 85,289 MT paddy was purchased by various procurement agencies till Saturday.

He said 52% crops were lifted from grain markets and a total payment of Rs. 57.94 crore was made to the farmers.

Bassi Pathana SDM Sukhdev Singh Mahal, Fatehgarh Sahib SDM Pooja Sayal Grewal, Khamano SDM Arina Duggal, Amloh SDM Rajdeep Kaur, district food and civil supplies controller Harjit Kaur also attended the meeting.
