The city police have failed to make any arrest in two cases of eve-teasing reported in the past two days here. In the first incident, on Sunday evening, two people first grabbed a purse from three girl students of State College, Patiala, and pulled them off a rickshaw, and then passed
lewd comments at them when they tried to resist. When attacked, the girls were on their way to hostel from market. On Monday, the girls went to a police station and lodged a complaint.

In the second incident, on Monday, three girls of the same college faced harassment at the main gate of the college, and the culprits were some youngsters on motorcycle. When the girls objected to the comments, the boys threatened them with dire consequences but another group of girls standing close captured the photographs of the boys on their cell phones and also noted the motorcycle's registration number.

Nearly 160 girls stay in a hostel near the college. "The police had identified the three youth involved in the second incident," Ranbir Singh, station house officer of Civil Lines, said in reply to a query. "A hunt for them is on."
