A food vendor killed himself after he allegedly found his wife in a compromising position with her lover. According to Harjit Kaur, mother of the deceased Indervir, he was was married to Jaswinder Kaur, a resident of Bathinda, in 2001. The couple had four children.
On November 1,
around 10 am, Indervir had gone home to pick something when he found his wife in a compromising position with Puneet Singh, a resident of Guru Nanak Nagar here.
"Under depression, he told me about the incident and later committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance," said Kaur.
Having sent the body for post-mortem examination, the Tripuri police have registered a case under section 306 of the IPC (abetment of suicide) against Jaswinder and her alleged paramour Puneet. No arrests have been made.
