The Royal City will remember Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh on his 72nd birthday in a function at Harpal Tiwana Academy of Performing Art on February 10.
Chitra Singh, wife of Jagjit Singh, would grace the occasion and famous Nooran sisters from Pakistan will perform at the
function.

"Jagjit Singh had a special bonding with me and this city. We will keep the flame burning. We will remember the maestro with Nooran sisters, who will enthrall the audience with Sublime Sufi," said Manpal Tiwana, creative director of Harpal Tiwana Academy.

Late Harpal Tiwana and Jagjit Singh were close friends and the latter was also the founder trustee of the Harpal Tiwana Foundation.

Jagjit had also given music for two Punjabi films of Harpal Tiwana.

Manpal said Nooran sisters, who recently performed Sufiana kalam "Alla Hoo" at MTV Coke Studio, won a lot of appreciation. They are granddaughters of Bibi Nooran.

He appealed to the public to reach in maximum numbers to pay tribute to Jagjit Singh.
