Two youths killed as tractor-trolley overturns

Two youths were killed when their tractor-trolley overturned near Anandpur Sahib on Sunday.


According to information, the accident took place around 11am.

Some youths, including students of Anandpur Sahib Khalsa Academy run by Nirmal Bandna Trust had gone on a tractor-trolley to fetch fodder for the cattle. Their tractor-trolley overturned at Baddal village, after the driver lost control owing to mud.

Gurjit Singh, 18, a student of Class 8 at the academy and belonging to Kirrian village in Taran Taran, along with 21-year-old Balbir Singh, who was an ex-student of the academy and a native of Bhawanpura village in Kapurthala died immediately. Two others, Hira Singh and Gursimran Singh, were injured in the mishap.

The injured were admitted to the Anandpur Sahib civil hospital for treatment.
