Lord Tarsem Singh,a former mayor and leader of Sandwell Council in the UK, was a native of Kultham village in Nawashahr.
Lord Tarsem Singh, of Punjabi origin, died of a suspected heart attack on Thursday night.

Tarsem, 75,  a former mayor and leader of Sandwell Council in the UK, was a native of Kultham village from Nawanshahr. He was coming back from the House of Lords when he fell down at
Euston railway station. He had served as a Labour councillor for more than 25 years.

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal has condoled the death and said that Lord Tarsem Singh was ‘deeply attached’ with his Punjabi background.

Deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and state assembly speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal have also condoled the demise.
