Jivetesh Singh Chhatwal
Jivetesh Singh Chhatwal, student of South Asian origin, is the recipient of the inaugural Canadian Schulich Leader Scholarships. He will receive an entrance scholarship of $60,000 which will be disbursed in annual payments of $15,000 during each year of his four-year undergraduate degree
program.


Jivetesh grew up in Punjab’s Rajpura city and completed his Grade 12 from Prince of Wales Collegiate, St John’s, Newfoundland, after his parents’ immigration to Canada in 2010. He will start studies for Bachelor of Science at Memorial University, St John’s, Newfoundland and aspires to become a doctor.

Memorial University is one of 20 Canadian universities selected to participate in the scholarship initiative, one of the largest education endowments in Canada’s history.
