The city police have sought extradition from the US of an accused in the 2006 bomb blast in a moving bus at the local bus stand. A request regarding this has been sent to the home ministry.
"In the blast, three passengers were killed and several injured," additional deputy
commissioner of police Navjot Mahal told Hindustan Times.

He said that during investigations, a US resident Balwinder Singh Possi has cropped up as one of the suspects.

"Since our country has entered into an extradition treaty with US, we have approached the Centre to seek extradition of Possi. This will ensure that investigation in the blast is carried forward," the ADCP said. He claimed that Possi will face the law of the land.
