Army recruitment rally in Gurdaspur from February 6

The army will hold a recruitment rally at Tibri Cantonment near Gurdaspur from February 6 to 16 for the posts of general duty, technical duty clerk, storekeeper, nursing assistant, sepoy general duty and sepoy technical.

Recruitment board director Major SK Jhajaria said that youth from Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran and Pathankot would be eligible to participate in the recruitment process for the post of general duty, while youth from all over the state would be eligible to take part in the recruitment process for the posts of technical duty clerk, store keeper and nursing assistant.

He said the rally would be launched on February 6 with the screening of candidates from Tarn Taran. "The screening for aspirants from Khadoor Sahib and Patti would take place on February 7. Candidates from Amritsar 1 and 2 would be screened on February 8, from Ajnala and Baba Bakala on February 9, from Gurdaspur on February 10, from Batala and Dera Baba Nanak on February 11 and from Pathankot and Dhar Kalan on February 12 for the post of general duty," he added.

Maj Jhajaria said candidates from all over Punjab would be screened for the technical category on February 13. "The written examination of the candidates who clear the physical fitness test would be conducted on February 24," he said.

Major Jhajaria said the candidates would be required to bring along 12 latest passport-size photographs. Sikh candidates are required to bring along 12 passport-size pictures with turban and 12 without turban.

The candidates are also required to bring original certificates of their educational qualifications, character certificates, caste certificate, certificate of residence and attestation of their marital status from the sarpanch and all the certificates to testify their status as wards of ex-servicemen and freedom fighters and residents of kandi and border areas.
