Heroin, fake currency seized after gunfight on Pak border

Amid exchange of fire on the line separating Pakistan, the Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday seized 2-kilogram heroin and Rs. 9.92 lakh in fake Indian currency.


Around Tuesday midnight, the border guards from 80 Battalion at the Muthianwala border outpost in this district noticed some men trying to intrude from the Pakistan side of the fence, RPS Jaiswal, deputy inspector general (DIG) of the BSF, has said.

Challenged by the BSF, the intruders they tried to throw some packets over the fencing and fired at the BSF troops. The BSF also fired in retaliation but the intruders escaped under the cover of darkness and tall munj grass.

In the morning, the BSF combed the area and seized two packets of 1-kg heroin each and three packets filled with fake 500-rupee notes.

ASI booked for raping minor girl
