Fog disrupts trains, flights

Fog enveloping north India continued to disrupt flights and train traffic to the city on Friday, causing inconvenience to commuters.

Chandigarh railway station superintendent Pardeep Kumar said several trains reached the city two to three hours behind schedule due to fog in Delhi area.

According to railway officials, the morning Shatabdi Express, Unchahar Express, Paschim Express and Sadbhavna Express arrived in Chandigarh behind schedule.

Fog also affected flights at the Chandigarh airport as morning Air India flight from New Delhi was cancelled while other flights coming to the union territory were delayed by 15 to 30 minutes.

Snag hits railway ticket reservations

Already harried over late running of trains due to fog, commuters faced more tough time after the reservation counters in the tricity remained closed from 3pm to 3.30pm as the computer server developed a technical snag. Long queues were seen at the booking counters as a result.

Accused supervisor still at large
