Finally after five years, the municipal corporation started carpeting of various city roads on Wednesday.
City mayor Subhash Chawla instructed the engineers concerned to complete the carpeting work of roads before the rainy season.
Three divisions of the road wing started
carpeting in different areas, including V-4 road (main road within sectors) in Sector 40 and V-6 roads (internal roads of sectors) in Sector 38 West, Sector 27, Sector 29-A and Sector 29-B. In addition to that, V-3 road (road dividing sectors) in Sector 47 was carpeted by the roads division one.
Appreciating the work started by the engineers, the mayor said the whole city would be beautified by providing first-class basic amenities and beautiful landscaping.
Meanwhile, the third phase of malba free city campaign was started in Sector 26 by the roads division two on Wednesday. A number of JCB machines, malba trucks, tractor trolleys, etc., have been roped in to clean the areas of the sector. The campaign will continue for two months.
