Punjab BJP president Kamal Sharma on Thursday said Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi was afraid of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi.

In a press statement, Sharma said Rahul addressing the gathering at a conclave organised by Confederation of Indian Industries has not given a clearcut policy, and instead has created confusion. "Meeting heads of the industry shows Rahul is trying to counter Modi who has been regularly meeting industrialists and giving them new ideas, but Rahul has failed to impress," Sharma said.

"Though he listed the problems India is facing, but has failed to provide solutions," Sharma said, adding that the Congress vice-president was silent on the issue of corruption in the country.

Sharma said the UPA had been at the helm of affairs at the Centre for the past nine years and it was not the time to talk about problems but to count the achievements of their government. "But the UPA government has not achieved anything during its two terms," he said.
