District and sessions judge GK Dheer sentenced an army man Harwinder Singh of Patti village for raping a girl of the same village. The girl had alleged that Harwinder had developed physical relations with her, promising that he would marry her. but when she became pregnant, he started avoiding
her.
Later she came to know that he was already married. The complainant gave birth to a baby girl, but the accused refused to accept her at which she got a case registered against him in Chabbewal police station. The court awarded him seven-year imprisonment.
Disposing of another rape case, the court of additional sessions judge Rajwinder Kaur pronounced 10-year imprisonment on Lucky Kumar of Bua Ditta village. He had raped a minor girl in August 2012.
