Newly enlisted young voters to get voter cards on January 25

All recently enlisted young voters would be handed over with their voter cards during the district level Voters Day celebrations on January 25. The function is scheduled to be organised at local Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, deputy commissioner Shruti Singh said.
"A special campaign
had been launched since January 6, 2013 to enrol all eligible young voters for voter lists. The exercise would be continued till January 25. During the celebrations of Voters Day, voter I-cards will be distributed by the booth level officers,” she said adding that, “besides this, the corrections/amendments forms would also be provided to the voters."

Such celebrations would be held at all assembly constituencies in different institutions, she added. In Phillaur at Govt Senior Secondary School (Boys), in Nakodar at AS Senior Secondary School, in Shahkot at Public Senior Secondary School, in Kartarpur at Govt Senior Secondary School, in Jalandhar West at Swami Sant Das Public School, in Jalandhar North at office of deputy director local bodies, in Jalandhar cantonment at Government Senior Secondary School Model Town, and in Adampur the function will be organised at Government Girls Senior Secondary School at Patara. "Voters are being invited through written invitation cards being delivered to them at their homes," she added.
