Police have booked 12 inmates of the local jail here for possessing mobile phones.
Those who were booked have been indentfied as Vipan Sharma, wife Honey Sharma, residents of Defence Colony, New Delhi; Darshan Singh, a resident of Banur; Jaspreet Singh and Kulwinder Singh, residents
of Samana; Karu Lal, a resident of Manser; Prem Kumar, a resident of Jodhpur; Babneet Singh, a resident of Patiala; Narinder Singh, a resident of Madhya Pradesh; Harjinder Singh, a resident of SAS Nagar; Ramesh Lal, a resident of Kurukshetra; and Nirbhai Singh, a resident of Patiala. Some are undertrails while some of them were undergoing punishment.
A surpise raid by the Patiala police had found 22 mobiles from the jail premises. After tracing the call records, the police are zeroing in on who was using these mobiles. The police have registered six FIRs in similar cases.
