PSPCL staffer commits suicide

A 35-year-old sub-station attendant of the Punjab State Power Limited Corporation (PSPCL) committed suicide at his house in the Ganga Singh Wala village in Sangrur.

The deceased has been identified as Harinder Singh Saini; he was posted at the Sangrur (City) PSPCL sub-station.

The matter came to light when his family found him hanging from a ceiling fan on Sunday morning.

The police reached the spot immediately to take stock of the situation.

The police said Saini's family found his room locked from inside and the door was not opened despite several knocks.

The family somehow sneaked into his room and found him dead.

As per the statements of family-members, the deceased was under mental pressure and depression over some issue. He was also seeing a psychiatrist for treatment.

The police handed over the body to the family after postmortem.
