Based on the much-loved bestseller of the same name, The Time Traveler’s Wife revolves around a librarian (Bana) who suffers from a strange affliction that causes him to randomly slip back and forth in time, says Rashid Irani.

The formula is quite simple. You take the protagonist through hell in a murky setting that is the film itself. Eventually the lead character passes a trial by fire. The wide-eyed, credulous audience sympathises, and believes they’ve learnt something about a world they knew nothing about before. The director moves on to the next subject. The story’s pattern remains the same, says Mayank Shekhar.

The only ones who do a worthy job, as always, are the publicity designers. The publicity kit of this flick, innovative graphics et al, make it seem like the hilarious Andaz Apna Apna’s follow up of sorts, says Mayank Shekhar.
