The UP labour department has sought
Rs.
1,000 crore from the state finance department to fulfil the SP’s poll promise of giving an allowance of
Rs.
1,000 per month to unemployed youth above the age of 35.
Ever since the party got a clear mandate to form the next government, unemployed youths
have been thronging employment exchanges to get their names registered for the allowance promised by the SP in its manifesto. There are around 8,00,000 jobless youth registered in employment exchanges in 2012-13.
On Wednesday, the labour department completed all preliminary work and sent the proposal to Virinda Swaroop, principal secretary, finance.
