Samajwadi Party on Sunday removed its national secretary Rajiv Rai from the post following charges that he was involved in anti-party activities.
"Rai has been removed from the party national secretary post for his alleged involvement in anti-party activities, SP spokesman
Rajendra Chowdhury said.
"A clarification has also been sought from him", he said.
Rai allegedly gave statements on behalf of the party.
The party clarified that only Chowdhury has been authorised to issue statements on behalf of SP as its spokesman.
