Police detain Jagruti Pandya, wife of  former minister Haren Pandya, on her way to meet Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi for demand for re investigation of murder of her husband, in Ahmedabad.
Jagruti Pandya, 46, widow of slain home minister Haren Pandya has joined the Gujarat Parivartan Party led by former BJP CM Keshubhai Patel. She will contest from Ellisbridge constituency, which was held by her late husband.

"I have decided to approach the people of Ellisbridge
because the Modi government has not done anything to get me justice for my husband's murder," she said.

Pandya was a rival of Modi in the Gujarat BJP and his father always held that his murder was allegedly committed at Modi's behest.

Last year, the Gujarat HC acquitted all the accused in the case, dubbing the CBI probe as 'blinkered and botched up".
