A workhorse in the domestic set-up to an on-off India player due to repeated breakdowns over the last year, Praveen Kumar has seen it all.

Hoping to fire from the start in IPL V, the Kings XI Punjab seamer said the onus to stay fit, despite a packed calendar, was on players. "There's a tendency to cover up injuries, especially if there's an important match or series coming up," he said. "If a player feels he's not up to it, he should make himself unavailable for his team's sake."

Praveen felt T20 was a good preparatory ground. "You need to bowl a different line and length in every format, but in T20 you need to have multiple, customised plans for every player and situation."
