Mumbai police on Sunday night busted a high-profile rave party at a plush hotel in Juhu and rounded up 96 participants, including two IPL players.
According to reports, the police have also arrested the party organiser, Vishesh Vijay Handa. He has been arrested under the Narcotic

Rahul claimed that he was at Oak Woods Hotel in Juhu at that time but for a different party. His mother too has backed him saying Rahul has done no wrong. She said that Rahul had gone to attend a birthday party.

All detained persons, including IPL players, have undergone mediacal tests to find out if they have taken banned sustances. The results of the test are awaited. The police will slap charges on the basis of the results of the tests. Even though no arrests have been made yet, police have released cricketers on bonds.

According to media reports, the police have said that that invitations to the party were sent out by social networking site Facebook.

Around 110gm of cocaine was found at the venue along with several tablets, suspected to be entactogenic drugs, like Ecstasy.

Nangre Patil, who led the raiding party, told HT that the police had been tipped off about the party at the hotel Oakwood Premier and the raid followed around 8pm.

“Most of the patrons were foreigners,” Nangre Patil said adding that all those rounded up had been sent to the Bhabha Hospital at Bandra (West) and Cooper Hospital, Vile Parle (West), for blood and urine tests.

“We are waiting for the medical reports of the participants before initiating action against them for consumption of narcotics,” he said.

Most of the participants (both Indian as well as foreigners) were of the age group between 25-35. The nationality of the foreigners and the identity/profile of the Indian patrons was still being ascertained, Nangre Patil said.

Sources said that during the raid, those present at the party started throwing sachets containing the drugs out of the window. At the time of going to press, the police were trying to collect the sachets.
