Matthew Wade was hit on the cheek while batting in the nets. The incident sent a shiver through the Australian camp on Friday.
The team management later said that he is fit.
"Matthew Wade copped a knock to the cheek while facing throw downs in the nets this afternoon but
batted on during training," the team doctor Peter Brukner said late on Friday.
"We sent him off for a precautionary scan and he has a minor fracture, but has subsequently been cleared to play provided there is no excessive bruising and swelling overnight."
Wade is the only wicketkeeper travelling with the visitors and in case he doesn't play, Australia are likely to replace him with Phillip Hughes who has kept in domestic cricket Down Under.
