Indian cricketers took to social media to express their joy at lifting the Tri-nation ODI series trophy and praise skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni for steering the team home after a mid-innings collapse.
India beat Sri Lanka by one wicket to lift the title with Dhoni being the hero of the triumph after striking a 52-ball 45.
India's dashing batsman Shikhar Dhawan described this as 'the best two months of cricket'.
Dhoni, returning from an injured hamstring, shared a last-wicket stand of 20 with Ishant Sharma as India reached its winning target at 203-9 with two balls to spare.
"I think I'm blessed with good cricketing sense," he said. "I thought 15 runs was something I can look for, the reason being the opposition bowler was not someone who was very experienced like (Lasith) Malinga or some of the other bowlers. I thought rather than taking chances against a Malinga or a (Angelo) Mathews, I would take it to the end and take a chance against someone who is not so experienced. It worked and I'm happy it worked."
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and batsman Suresh Raina also took to Twitter to express their happiness.
Pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who bagged his maiden Man of the Series award, thanked his fans for supporting him.
"Had been best 2 months of cricket. Going back with 2 trophies. Great team effort," he added referring to the Champions Trophy triumph just days before the tri-series.
Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin lauded Dhoni for keeping his calm in the tense match.
