Charulata, Vertigo part of Cannes Classics

Satyajit Ray’s Charulata will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival this year. It will be one of the 20 movies to be presented as part of Cannes Classics.

50 years later, Ray's classic in Cannes

Legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray's cult classic film Charulata (1964) will be shown at the forthcoming Cannes Film Festival, this year. Debasmita Ghosh reports.

Cannes can be rigid and unfair

The weather has been playing spoilsport at Cannes, messing up the Festival now and then. On Wednesday evening, it poured from a menacingly dark sky, and most of the journalists and other Festival goers were caught unawares, since the morning and much of the day had been bright and sunny.
