The Sarabha Nagar police on Friday arrested the driver of the bus which had run over a 19-year-old student near MBD Neopolis Mall on Thursday.
The police also seized the bus involved in the mishap. The accused has been identified as Palwinder Singh of Nand Singh Nagar of Ayali Kalan. He is a driver in the Bhangu Bus Company.

The accused had mowed down BCom student Harjyot Singh Dua on Thursday and fled the spot along with his vehicle.

Inspector Mandeep Singh, SHO of the Sarabha Nagar police station, said a case of causing death due to negligence was already registered against the accused. The accused used to drive bus on Ludhiana-Mullanpur Dakha route.
