As for how he got the idea for writing the story of filmmaker Sudhir Mishra’s Inkaar, Manoj says that he was inspired after a conversation with a friend of his who works as a Human Resource head in a corporate firm. His friend was tackling a sleazy sexual harassment case at that time and this helped Manoj make a strong foundation for a story, which was liked by Sudhir so much that he decided to make a film on it. “The audience will enter the theatre thinking they will leave siding with one warring party, but will leave with a confusion about which one is better than the other,” says Manoj.
The writer, who has also directed a film called Mumbai Salsa, is more inclined towards writing. “Storytelling is an art for which understanding of life is very important. The core of writing is emotions and not just mere understanding of writing,” explains Manoj.
