The actor also reveals that Mohit had decided to marry her the first time he saw her. “He was in the editing studio when my film Paap was being worked on. He saw me there and said, ‘this is the girl I want to marry’,” she laughs. The couple is hosting a mehendi ceremony on Monday followed by the wedding on Tuesday. There will also be a post-wedding bash on Thursday. “I am wearing a western style sari for the party and a red lehenga at the wedding. We will have a very simple ceremony. We are only inviting our close friends. We didn’t really want to waste our time and energy for the sake of PR, thinking that if we invite certain people, it will get us work,” she says.
“We didn’t want it to be a social obligation either. Mohit and I are doing this with our money. Initially, we wanted to have a destination wedding, far from Mumbai where we could invite just our close friends, but we couldn’t zero in on the right location,” adds Udita.
