A taste for honey
Writer Ravinder Singh (I Too Had a Love Story) ruffled some feathers in the audience, when he said blasting Yo Yo Honey Singh tracks from his car was part of his Punjabiyat. Singh was part of a discussion alongwith Shauna Singh Baldwin, Kishwar Desai, Navtej
Sarna and Nirupama Dutt to discuss Punjabi spirit and the stereotypes attached to them. A livid blogger took on Singh, but the author defended his tastes.
The art of selling
Writer Jugal Mody, who was seen toting around a copy of his debut book, Toke, was overheard talking to a couple of other writers on the press terrace about how to sell more books. Apparently, someone told him the best way to get people to buy your books was to turn up at literary events with a hot girlfriend.

"In a country where music is part of our traditions, documenting and preserving our musical heritage is not considered important," said Vikram Sampath, who has written books about classical music. Sampath also spoke of his project of digitally preserving Indian music, freely accessible at www.archiveofindianmusic.org
