Many other bird lovers, who were not a part of the bird race, also gathered at Sewri to see Lesser Flamingos, that fly to the city from Africa at this time of the year.
“I will get an opportunity to tell my friends about my experience in spotting birds and will show them pictures that I have taken,” said Atharva, a Class 6 student.
Niyati Mehta, 30, a Walkeshwar resident loves to go bird-spotting around the city with a couple of her friends. “Whenever these flamingos are in town, I make it a point to visit the Sewri creek. The pink flocks are a pleasant sight ,” said Mehta, while taking pictures of the flocks on her smart phone.
Mehta added, “This year I also brought my one-year-old daughter with me to see the birds.”
