Reacting sharply to the alleged threat by BJP president Nitin Gadkari, the apex body of tax officials — the Indian Revenue Service — has asked the government to provide adequate security to I-T officials on duty.

Expressing deep shock and concern, the association has passed a resolution and sought an unconditional apology from Gadkari for his alleged remarks.
