An Army jawan made an attempt to end his life by shooting himself in Domana area of city outskirts, police said on Monday.
"Jawan identified as Lance Naik Vijay Singh of 17 JAK LI, resident of village Jindu, Ranbir Singh Pura was on guard duty last night when he shot himself with his service rifle in Domana area," police here said.
  
Police further said that on hearing a gun shot, his colleagues rushed to the spot and found him in a pool of blood.
  
"They immediately shifted him to the Military Hospital Satwari," police said, adding he was operated upon and his condition was stated to be stable.
