The shortlisted photographs were shown to chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday.
"Delhi has completely transformed in the past few years. Through this competition, we had asked the people of Delhi to tell us what fascinates them most - whether it is the history, the architecture, the art and culture or the new infrastructure that has come up. The response that we got for this photo competition is overwhelming," said a senior Delhi government official.
While the best picture will be given a cash prize of R1 lakh, 33 more entries will get cash rewards between R10,000 to R75,000.
Officials said 100 best photographers would also get a complimentary copy of their work signed by Dikshit herself. The best photographs will also be showcased in an exhibition and published in a coffee table book.
"We have formed a committee of some eminent photographers to select the best among all the entries," a senior Delhi government official said.
