Punjab chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has cancelled all his pre-scheduled engagements across the state till February 1 after being advised to take rest by doctors.
While Badal’s media advisor HS Bains said that it was just a common cold and there was nothing serious about it, special principal secretary to the chief minister Gaggandip Singh Brar said it was chest congestion.
Brar said that Badal after the check at PGI on Tuesday at Chandigarh has been advised by the doctors to take rest for a couple of days. “During winter he often suffers from minor chest congestion. it is primarily due to cold weather conditions”, added Brar.
Meanwhile, spokesperson at the chief minister’s office said that Badal was not feeling well so therefore all the pre-scheduled programmes of Badal across the state till February 1 have been cancelled.
The fresh dates of these functions which had been either postponed or cancelled would be announced later on by the chief minister’s office, the spokesperson added.
