"There must be a special cell or court where women councillors can complain about male councillors who misbehave with them. Such councillors must not be allowed to continue in office," she wrote.
Women councillors have also demanded a driver and helper to assist them in their day-to day work. At present, only office bearers such as the mayor get a car and driver.
Women councillors of East Delhi and North Delhi had recently complained to their party heads about alleged harassment by male councillors in office meetings.
The nature of complaints included derogatory comments and indecent gestures.
Some women councillors alleged that the male councillors did not allow them to speak in the meetings.
After the complaints, the LG had asked the north Delhi corporation to station 10 marshals during meetings to ensure security.
While there is a sexual harassment cell for government employees, the women councillors do not have any such system in place.
