A 15-year-old national table tennis junior champion was strip-searched at an Easy Day store in Indore on Sunday. The girl was forced to strip on a suspicion that she was trying to steal something from the store. It later transpired that the alarm system at the store was faulty.

A case was registered against three Easy Day staffers who made the girl strip, but the girl’s mother sought action against the store. “Why arrest just the lower-level officials who were just following orders? Why not the senior managers who issued the orders?” asked the mother.
