More than eight lakh Mumbaiites now read your favourite newspaper, which continues to be the No.2 English daily broadsheet in this city for the ninth time in a row, according to the latest round (Q3, 2012) of the Indian Readership Survey released by the Media Research Users’ Council on
Hindustan Times’ average daily readership (AIR) touched 8.01 lakh, ahead of both DNA and Mumbai Mirror.
HT has emerged as the fastest-growing English daily in the top socio-economic category, SEC- A, adding 83,000 readers in the past one year.
HT also added 48,000 young readers (12-29 yrs) in the past one year, reflecting our growing popularity among the discerning and the youth.
While numbers alone are not necessarily the best measure of a truly good newspaper, we believe that our success in Mumbai is a reflection of the faith you place in our journalism.
Through our many strong editorial initiatives — among them HT for Mumbai, under the umbrella of which we have campaigned to Make Mumbai Safer for Women and for better civic amenities — we have constantly endeavoured to inform and empower you.
In the Delhi-NCR region too, Hindustan Times maintained its position as the No. 1 English daily for the 11th time in a row with an AIR of 21.99 lakh, a lead of 80,000 readers over its closest competitor, The Times of India (ToI).
HT also reaffirmed its position as the first-choice newspaper among the more educated and affluent households of Delhi-NCR, with a 2.15-lakh lead over ToI among SEC-A -- a lead which has jumped by more than 25% in just the last one year.
Mint, HT Media’s business daily, continues to hold its No. 2 position nationally, with 2.26 lakh daily readers.
Hindustan, the group’s Hindi daily, continued to grow, consolidating its No. 2 position among all newspapers in India with a total readership (TR) of 3.90 crore.
