Continuing its attack on the Congress for “implicating its top leaders in the JBT-recruitment conviction case”, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on Wednesday accused the Bhupinder Singh Hooda government of giving jobs to ineligible candidates.

Abhey Singh Chautala, son of INLD chief Om Prakash Chautala, said that the removal of more than 2,000 candidates by the Punjab and Haryana high court has exposed the malfunctioning of the state government.

The appointment of 1,983 physical training instructors (PTIs) was set aside in September last year by the court after it found largescale irregularities in the recruitment process.

The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) had appointed the candidates in 2010.

Similarly, last week, the high court had quashed the appointment of 13 clerks in Haryana Vidhan Sabha and ordered fresh recruitment.

Chautala also alleged that ineligible candidates were being appointed to the post of building inspector.

As many as 75 building inspectors were appointed in December 2010, and most of them were found to not have the required educational qualifications. Following a complaint by an RTI activist, the lokayukta ordered an inquiry into the matter.

Abhey also said the INLD leadership was targeted because it had threatened to expose undue land favours given to Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Sonia Gandhi.
